The study concluded that intensive training in interviewing significantly improved their attitudes and skills. Why is this important? Studies have shown that Physicans experience deception much more than what may be imagined.
Other findings:
The majority of 24-25 year olds tended to mislead the doctor concerning recreational drug use, sexual history and tobacco use. Social workers rely upon good information when deciding how to manage a cliet base. A deceived social worker can be a costly deception. Reports of deaths due to deceived case managers are, sadly, not new occurrences. Essentially any position where interpersonal communication takes place is a probable deceptive situation. If you interact with people, you need this training.
